Online women’s clothing retailers like Romwe and Zaful have changed the shopping game forever. Why ever leave your house when you can buy stylish clothes online from the comfort of your couch?

Junior Mikayla Poggi, who does 25 percent of her clothes shopping online, said she started shopping on Zaful last summer after viewing ads on Instagram and hearing about the website through word of mouth.

She has purchased a bikini, a dress, shirts and a two-piece on Zaful.

“The clothes did match the pictures. However, some shirts are smaller than you think they are,” Poggi said.

She said she intends to continue shopping on the site but would advise shoppers to order a size up when purchasing shirts.

Poggi said she relies on reviews of individual items before making purchases on Zaful.

“When I look at the photo reviews, I can get a good idea of what the item looks like on different people,” Poggi said.

Senior Kara Mueller, who shops at Romwe and Zaful, takes a different approach to doing her research about items on the site.

“I watch YouTube videos of people reviewing items from the online stores to see how I would like it,” Mueller said.

She said she started clothes shopping online during the winter when she bought a fuzzy jacket. Since then, she has purchased bathing suits and a shirt online. For bathing suits, Mueller said she prefers Romwe, but for everything else, she favors Zaful.

“[The bathing suits] were wonderful quality, and they won’t be see-through when wet,” Mueller said. “However, overall Zaful is my go-to for everything.”

Mueller said while she intends to continue making online purchases, she would rather do her shopping in stores where she can try on the products and avoid shipping costs.

Senior Skyler Bancroft, who recently started shopping at Zaful, said she intends to continue being a customer because the clothes she received matched the photos online and were true to size.

Bancroft said online shopping has its shortcomings, though.

“The worst thing is waiting for your package to arrive. Shipping can be very expensive [on] some online sites, and it’s not always a guarantee that your package will come by the time you need it,” Bancroft said.

Despite these drawbacks, Bancroft said she intends to continue making purchases on sites including Amazon, American Eagle, Romwe and Zaful.

“The best thing about online shopping is the convenience of it. I can buy cute, stylish clothes via my phone or laptop,” said Bancroft.
