With summer right around the corner, it’s time to update your wardrobe! Whether you’re going on vacation to the Bahamas, taking a day trip to the beach or just grabbing ice cream with your date, here are some trends that will keep you looking chic all season long:

Floral dresses

A floral dress is my No. 1 go-to when I am headed out to a fancy restaurant or even on a date. To achieve a cute look, pair your dress with chunky, low heels and a trendy purse.

Tie-dye

A throwback to the 1970s, tie-dye prints are making their way back to the runway and can be spotted on many celebrities. Beyoncé was seen wearing tie-dye on vacation at the beach. Justin Bieber even attended church in a tie-dye hoodie.

You can find tie-dye garments at most stores, whether they be high-end boutiques such as Stella McCartney or affordable chains like H&M.

Marigold Yellow

Studies show that the color yellow is the most noticeable color. Yellow also represents warmth, brightness and energy. Thus, it is no mystery why it is so popular this season, making appearances in the lines of high-end designers such as Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta.

My personal favorite way to style marigold yellow is to pair it with blue clothing, such as baby blue jeans or shoes. Since they are located on opposite sides of the color wheel, blue and yellow make a striking combination.

Basket bag

You’ll feel like Little Red Riding Hood while carrying your basket bag throughout the neighborhood. These bags are also a perfect bohemian look for the beach. They come in a variety of styles including circular, tote-shaped, cross-body and more. Pair the basket bag with ripped blue jeans and a white blouse for a sophisticated yet grungy look.

Crochet

Grandma crochets for a reason: it’s such a cute look! Whether sporting a crocheted bikini, dress, shirt or shoes, this trend is perfect for the beach or a night out. All you have to do is look to high-end designers like Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta to know crochet is all the rage.

Bucket hat

Also known as the fisherman’s hat, this accessory is perfect for cloudy or rainy days. Depending on how you style it, the hat could make or break your outfit. Therefore, consider pairing your bucket hat with a striped button-down shirt, skinny jeans and sneakers.

Rompers & jumpsuits

No matter how you style your romper or jumpsuit, you will look elegant and beautiful. My favorite thing about the jumpsuit is that you can even wear it in a business setting. Take the look from day-to-night by pairing it with sandals in the sunshine and high heels in the moonlight.

Flared pants

It’s never a bad idea to wear loose clothing, which is an emerging trend this year. Another throwback to the 1970s, flared pants are back and better than ever. A comfortable but hip look, the best way to style flared pants is with heels and a summery top.

Nike Air Force 1

Celebrity trendsetters Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Dua Lipa and Jordyn Woods have all posted artsy photos of themselves wearing their Nike Air Force 1s. A trend revived from the 1990s, these shoes will match any casual outfit. They come in a variety of colors and platforms ranging from thin to chunky, so you can express your personal style all summer long.
