Putting on eyeshadow can seem challenging, but follow these simple steps, and you’ll be sure to have eyelids that make an impression.

Step 1: Before you begin, make sure your eyebrows are well-maintained because having a clean brow will give you more room for your shadow.

Step 2: Set primer on the lids and smooth it out.

Step 3: Use a powder that matches your skin tone and press on top of the primer to make it a smoother base and easier to blend the rest of the colors on.

Step 4: Above the crease on your eyelid, add a rosy neutral eyeshadow to make your eye look more natural. This is called a transition shade.

Step 5: Place white eyeshadow on the inner eyelid to make it look bright and to make sure no other colors are there.

Step 6: The outer corner of your eye is where the darkest shade is going to go, which is a dark brown. For this, you should use a different, slimmer brush. When executing this step, you should pack the color on, so grip the brush close to the bristles and push on the brush.

Step 7: As you blend, pull the color toward the middle area of your eye. Also, blend any lines you might have made on the outer eyelid. If you decide to go for a more intense look, take some more of the same dark brown color and blend a little more for a smoky look.

When holding a blending brush it is important not to grip the brush hairs too closely because this will only create patchy blending. Start by holding the blending brush towards the tip of the handle for a fuller look.

Step 8: When finished, go back to the inner corner of your eyelids, and add more white shadow to make your eyes pop.

Step 9: Finish with some eyeliner or false lashes. You might also want to add some highlighter on the brow bone, cheeks, nose and inner corner of the eye. Then, you’ll be all set with your natural, effortless look.
