- “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) is a perfect twist on the animated movie. Dr. Seuss’ spin on a classic Christmas movie illustrates that the Christmas spirit has the power to put everyone in a loving mood.
- “Home Alone” (1990) is a great movie that brings family together during the Christmas season. This season can become stressful because of all the gifts and preparations, but this movie reminds families what the holiday season is really about: family.
- “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” (1992) takes Kevin, the protagonist, to New York City, where he finds himself alone without his family. In the big city, he must protect himself. His adventures are sure to keep viewers glued to their screens.
- “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989) is a comedic take on Christmas movies that illustrates how stressful the holiday season can get.
- “Elf” (2003) is a family comedy in which Buddy is an adult elf who doesn’t believe he isn’t an elf. In the film, he sets out to find his dad and encounters some challenges along the way.
- “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993), despite its title, is not a scary movie. It is an animated Tim Burton movie in which Jack Skeleton gets stuck in the Christmas holiday and has no clue what is happening.
- “The Polar Express” (2004) is an animated, family-friendly film about what it’s like to be in the North Pole visiting Santa’s Workshop.
- “Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh” (2008) is the Christmas special for the Nickelodeon show “Drake and Josh.” It is a fun and lighthearted special that goes along with the series.
- “Frozen” (2013) is a Disney movie about two sisters who don’t need a guy to save them. It’s a good option if you are looking for an entertaining animated family movie.
- “The Year Without a Santa Claus” (1974) is a classic Christmas movie with a holiday-themed soundtrack.
- “Unaccompanied Minors” (2006) is fairly unpopular, but it shows how the Christmas spirit brings out the good in everyone. It presents a clever twist on “The Grinch.”
- “The Santa Clause” (1994) shows what it takes to be Santa Claus and highlights the sacrifices it requires. This movie is a three-part series starring Tim Allen.
- “The Santa Clause 2” (2002) is the sequel to “The Santa Claus.” In this film, everyone has lost their Christmas joy and has landed on the naughty list, including Santa’s own kids.
- “The Santa Claus 3” (2006) shows what Christmas would be like if Jack Frost were Santa. When Jack Frost takes over, everything takes a wrong turn.
- “The search for Santa Paws” (2010) chronicles the adventures of Santa Paws, who gets lost on his journey away from home, and the search that takes place to find him.
- “Frosty the Snowman” (1969) is a classic tale of Frosty and how he came to be. In this classic film, Frosty shows kids how to get into the real holiday spirit.
- “The Christmas Shoes” (2002) is a movie about a boy who finds a pair of shoes to give as a present to his sick mother. This movie highlights the true meaning of Christmas.
- “A Christmas Story” (1983) is a classic holiday comedy about the adventures of a young boy. The young boy spends his time trying to find his way around his bully and dreams of the perfect Christmas gift.
- “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965) is one of the many “Charlie Brown” movies based on the well-known comic strip. Charlie Brown along with his friends make the best of Christmas in this animated feature.
- “Krampus” (2015) is one of the only Christmas horror films. Krampus is the Christmas devil and reveals how horrifying Christmas can be.
- “A Christmas Carol” (2009), which is based on Charles Dickens’ novella, shows Mr. Scrooge in the past, present and future. This character is led by a ghost who wants to help Scrooge become happy.
- “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (1998) tells the story of a singled out reindeer. Rudolph shows all the other reindeer that he is the most famous one of all.
- “Santa Claus is coming to Town” (1970) is a classic movie with a soundtrack that explains how Santa originated and what Christmas would be like without him.
- “Arthur Christmas” (2011) is about an occasion when Santa Claus overlooks one child and needs help saving the day. Santa’s son comes to the rescue.
- “Christmas With the Kranks” (2004) is about a family that wants to go on a cruise to get away from Christmas, but they find their way back to the Christmas spirit.
