The Lighthouse’s Athlete of the Month is senior Anthony Lembo. He is the starting quarterback and safety on the football team. He has been playing football for 13 years and began playing when he was just four years old.

“I started playing football so early that I feel like it has always been such a huge part of my life. I love the sport and always have,” Lembo said.
He said he always knew football was a sport he wanted to pursue. Lembo is hoping to major in sports management and play football in college, but he has not yet decided what school he wants to attend.

“I debated on it for a while, but ultimately I decided that I want to continue doing what I love. It’s just hard to decide on a place that I know I can be happy at,” Lembo said.
Lembo said growing up, he was surrounded by sports. He has played football, basketball and baseball in addition to running track. Even if he does not end up playing football professionally, Lembo said he will never lose his devotion to the sport.

“It doesn’t matter what happens in the future. I know I will always love football and will always have a passion for it,” said Lembo.
