‘Tis the season for binge watching: Students and teachers share their favorite shows to stream on Netflix

Holiday break: a week to relax on the couch, stay cozy in a warm blanket, drink hot cocoa and watch some Netflix.
Here are the shows LHS’ students and faculty say you should be watching:
“The Office”
Brando Soriano, senior
NBC Universal announced that it is removing “The Office” from Netflix in 2020, as there are plans for its own streaming platform where it intends to host the show starting in 2021. Watch all of your favorite seasons before it is too late.
“Money Heist”
Adriana Vazquez, senior
A criminal mastermind, who viewers know as “The Professor,” plans to print billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain with the help of eight people with certain special abilities.

“Jane the Virgin”
Irish Gonzales, junior
Being the daughter of a teen mom, Jane Villanueva wants to make sure she does not repeat her mother’s mistakes. Then, a routine clinic visit turns changes her world forever.

“Big Mouth”
Dylan Sousa, junior
Going through puberty is not easy, even for a cartoon character. Andrew Glouberman is learning that growing up in the New York suburbs.

“The Flash”
Sarah Sammarone, sophomore
A man wakes up out of a coma and finds out he has the ability to travel faster than light. After finding out, he uses his powers against the forces threatening the city.
“Narcos”
Mauricio Villegas, sophomore
This series shows actions taken by law enforcement as they fight the war on drugs, targeting figures like Pablo Escobar.

“Victorious”
Kaylee Barahona, freshman
Originating on Nickelodeon, 16-year-old Tori Vega has been invited to Hollywood Arts, a performing arts high school. Tori has to deal with being the new kid, meeting a group of friends along the way.
“Friends”
Aidan Fairchild, freshman
The iconic ’90s NBC sitcom is confirmed to depart from Netflix in 2020. All 236 episodes will be available on its new home, HBO Max, a streaming service created by WarnerMedia. Binge watch before the New Year.
“Ugly Delicious”
Mr. Belmont, English teacher
This show combines cooking with travel and history. Each episode highlights a particular dish and shows how it is made and evolves in different regions of the world.
“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”
Ms. DiMaggio, English teacher
In each episode, Jerry Seinfeld picks up a different famous comedian in an interesting car, and they go to get a cup of coffee and chat.
