Located on 296B Stuyvesant Ave., Trina’s Treats, which opened last year in July, is a chocolate boutique that offers a variety of wonderful treats.

This stellar boutique has a stunning storefront decorated with beautiful flowers that wrap around the building. I can tell that a lot of effort was dedicated to making this boutique aesthetically pleasing using a pink color scheme.

Walking in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee who helped me decide which treats to buy. Since it was 11 a.m., the time the boutique opened, I was the only person there and had the first pick among the arrangements of treats available.

I immediately noticed how organized the boutique was, and the layout of the boutique made the small space appear bigger. I was surprised to see how gorgeous the interior was and enjoyed the cleanliness and decorations.

There was a large variety of treats, which gave me plenty of options from which to choose. The employee recommended that I try the hot chocolate bomb and chocolate-covered Oreo. There were all different kinds, but I chose a large hot chocolate bomb and chocolate-covered Nutella Oreo topped with a Ferrero Rocher. I also picked up a white chocolate-covered pretzel rod, a white chocolate-covered pretzel topped with Oreos and a white chocolate-covered Rice Krispie Treat. My total for all five treats was $13, which is a very reasonable price.

All the treats were amazing, nothing I’ve tasted before. I have seen hot chocolate bombs on social media, but I didn’t expect them to be so big. The large hot chocolate bomb was the size of my palm, covered with edible glitter and sprinkles. Its smooth, spherical shape was so pretty to look at I didn’t even want to ruin it. I heated oat milk in a mug and dropped the hot chocolate bomb in. It melted instantly, and my mug was filled with tiny, soft marshmallows and milky, sweet chocolate. The glitter made my hot chocolate taste even better.

I shared both the white chocolate-covered pretzel rod and the white chocolate-covered pretzel topped with Oreos with my mother. She loved how fresh the treats were and appreciated nothing was stale. The white chocolate melted in my mouth without overpowering the pretzels. The saltiness from the pretzel complemented the white chocolate so well, and the pretzels may have been my favorite treats that I purchased. These simple treats were splendid, and the Oreos on top of the white chocolate-covered pretzel made it taste even better.

Next, I tried the chocolate-covered Nutella Oreo topped with a Ferrero Rocher. I have never tasted an Oreo this good. The chocolate is smooth, and the Ferrero Rocher adds a nice nutty crunch. These Oreos definitely satisfied my craving for sweets, and it was all worth it. Biting into the Oreo, I was able to see each layer of chocolate, cookie, cream and Nutella.

To finish off, I tried the white chocolate-covered Rice Krispie Treat. It was soft and not overwhelmingly sweet. White chocolate is rich and flavorful, which I admire. I can taste the delicate flavors showcasing the Rice Krispies and working well together.

I admire that Trina’s Treats offer affordable treats that are delicious and packaged beautifully. I believe their simple packaging highlights the treats, which is the main focus. I enjoy that they offer different kinds of chocolate—including white chocolate and milk chocolate—so everyone can find a treat to enjoy.

This chocolate boutique is a splendid addition to Lyndhurst, and I look forward to returning to Trina’s Treats when I am craving chocolate. I recommend this charming boutique to everyone who wants to support a local business. I believe Trina’s Treat will continue to thrive in the future and add sweetness to our town.
