As the United States approaches its one-year anniversary since the pandemic was first announced, the country still has not been able to slow down the rise of Covid-19 cases. Among the solutions is a coronavirus vaccine.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have been authorized for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration. These vaccines are now available to essential workers, the elderly and other high-risk people. Within a few months, everyone should have access to the vaccine, but many people question whether it is worth taking.

Many people in the nation are not sure if they trust the government to produce a safe, effective and efficient vaccine. Many people suspect the vaccine could create more damage than the virus or even cause death.

While there is a lot of doubt with people wondering if they should take the vaccine, ultimately the answer should be yes.

In this country, an average of 3,300 people are dying every day because of the virus. New York City is averaging over 6,000 new cases a day just on its own. The deadliness of the coronavirus is a serious issue as many people are either dying or losing loved ones. But Covid-19 is affecting America in more ways than one; it is also hurting the economy.

Now that the government has deemed these vaccines safe and ready to use, there is no reason to not take the vaccine.

Thousands of people have lost their jobs due to Covid-19. Since the United States forced nonessential businesses to shut down, many people lost their jobs. Workers have to consider not advancing their career and not being able to provide money for their family or going to find a job at risk of contracting and spreading a deadly virus to others.

With families so strapped for income, the shots will cost nothing for those wishing to be vaccinated. The New Jersey Department of Health has allowed undocumented workers to be vaccinated seeing as 69 percent of them are essential workers. From an economic and positional standpoint, there is no point to deny a Covid-19 vaccine.

Small businesses have especially been negatively affected by the coronavirus. Most communities are built upon the foundation of these small businesses. By taking these vaccines, it will push America further to immunization and opening society back up.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the FDA have tested the Covid-19 vaccines and assured their safety. The CDC found only an extremely small number of people have bad reactions to being vaccinated caused by allergic reactions.

Now that the government has deemed these vaccines safe and ready to use, there is no reason not to take the vaccine. This pandemic has done too much damage already, and the only way to stop it is by being vaccinated. Everyone should take the vaccines as soon as possible so society can get back to normal again.
