Located on 30 Park Ave. in Rutherford, 30 Burgers, which opened on Dec. 4, is a chain restaurant that sells gourmet burgers along with other American food.

The restaurant has a nice interior with red walls and modern furniture. It is a decent size and the decor on the walls adds a personal touch.

Walking in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee. I appreciated how clean and organized the restaurant was. There was hand sanitizer and signs to enforce social distancing, which shows they value customers’ health and safety during the pandemic. There were only two tables available for indoor seating that were spaced apart from each other which made me feel safer since I ate in the restaurant.

Glancing at the menu, I was impressed by the size. They offer 30 different burgers along with four specialty burgers. I think this is a very clever concept that goes with the name of the restaurant and gives customers a variety of options.

I am a vegetarian, so I researched the restaurant beforehand to check if there would be meat alternatives for me. To my surprise, I was delighted to see a veggie burger and black bean burger.

I was craving the black bean burger, which was $7.25. The burger had provolone cheese which balanced out the patty perfectly. The chipotle mayo added a nice spice, but it was not overwhelming. Each ingredient of the burger, including the patty, tomato slices, red onion and lettuce was fresh. I have had my fair share of bean burgers, and this one is among my favorites. The burger was delicious and quite filling even though I arrived with an empty stomach.

I added cheese fries with my food for $3.50, and they did not disappoint. My face lit up when I saw them, as I was brought back to my childhood. With a perfectly crisp exterior, they tasted like classic cheese fries that are served at a bowling alley.

Along with my food, I ordered an Oreo-cherry milkshake for $4. It was so creamy. I loved that there were a lot of Oreos and cherries. I opted for a medium milkshake, and it was the perfect size for me. I would definitely go back just for the milkshake.

Since this is a burger restaurant, I brought my mother to try the beef. She got the El Paso Burger at $7.99 since she wanted guacamole on her burger. She enjoyed the burger but was not impressed by the guacamole. Her favorite component of the burger was the onion bun. She would not stop talking about it. She loved the flavor and texture of it. She noted that the burger itself tasted fresh and was a good size. She enjoyed the chipotle mayo and the crispy bacon, which she said added a nice flavor. My mother also got a side of sweet potato fries for $4 but was disappointed to find them overcooked and burnt. She was not able to finish them and said she would not order them again.

The wait for our food was about 20 minutes, which is reasonable. I was excited to try my food and was ready to dig in when it arrived at the table. The welcoming environment and 80s music made the experience even more pleasant.

This new restaurant is a good addition to Park Ave., and I believe that it will be very successful. I look forward to returning to 30 Burgers when I am craving a classic veggie burger, and since it’s a short distance from my home and workplace, I will likely become a regular customer. I am extremely impressed with this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone craving good, affordable food.
