Senior Tributes

When I was a freshman, I remember hearing all the seniors say, “Enjoy high school. It goes by fast.” As a 14-year-old, I didn’t bother listening to them. I always thought the four years would feel like forever. I was wrong.

Sitting here writing this tribute as a legal adult, I ponder where the last four years went. No longer will I be able to bump into my friends and just wander the halls with them. The “See you tomorrow”s will turn into “See you on break.” They say that all good things must come to an end, and this is just one of those good things.

I have been blessed with amazing coaches in all three sports I participated in. Coach Tuero made me feel comfortable being me, and he let me express myself on the football field. I like to think that I left it all on the field, and the only way that they were able to get me off the field was to literally carry me off.

Coach Weaver made me realize I had the potential to achieve my dream of wrestling at a Division I school. With the help of Coach Weaver and the coaching staff, I have become the wrestler I am today.

Coach Auteri appreciated my intensity and frequently told me he loved the way I played baseball. Coach Aut always let me know that he was there for me and constantly checked up on me after I tore my ACL.

I like to think that I left it all on the field, and the only way that they were able to get me off the field was to literally carry me off.

Each coach treated me like his own son, and I have created bonds with these amazing men that will last a lifetime. I could not be more grateful for them and all they did for me these past four years.

Last but not least, The Lighthouse adviser Ms. Pastor helped me discover my love for writing. Although my articles were usually submitted late, I always put my best effort into them. Ms. Pastor’s guidance and constructive criticism helped me understand that I would love to make a career out of writing. Thank you for these last four years, Ms. Pastor. My time in The Lighthouse program truly made a positive impact on my life.
Now I am about to trade in my blue and gold for red and white, as I will be attending and competing in Division I wrestling at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Thank you for everything, LHS. Lyndhurst Forever.
