If you have not yet been to The 3rd Wave Cafe, it’s time to check it out. Located at 525 Riverside Ave., this is a great spot to grab a quick meal, hang out with friends or get some work done.

Last month, when I tried The 3rd Wave Cafe for the first time, I was blown away by the restaurant’s cleanliness and the kindness of the staff. The food was delicious and served in large portions. I ordered the Basic Crepe (12.99), which consists of banana, strawberries, powdered sugar and Nutella, as well as a cup of hot chocolate ($3.50).

Everything arrived quickly. The crepe was fluffy, and the texture was great. I could tell all the fruit in it was fresh because it was not too sweet or gummy. The crepe was decorated nicely with a Nutella drizzle and whipped cream dollops that made it visually pleasing on top of being good-tasting.

The hot chocolate was served warm, and unlike most places, it wasn’t burning hot, so I was able to drink it right away.

While I purchased a sweet crepe, The 3rd Wave Cafe also sells fresh drinks, acai bowls, waffles, coffee, paninis, wraps, salads, avocado toast and more.

The cafe seemed a bit expensive at first, but after I received the food and saw how large the portion was, I realized the menu items are actually well-priced.

The restaurant is clean and spacious with many seats. I also liked the bright lighting and low reguetón music playing in the background, which created an upbeat vibe.

Everything at The 3rd Wave Cafe is made fresh, and there is a sign explaining that none of the food is microwaved.

The 3rd Wave Cafe has been open since 2014, but it has recently had a resurgence in popularity now that the nearby gym, Empire Court, is offering memberships to high school students.
Masks are required indoors at The 3rd Wave Cafe except when sitting down, so make sure to bring your face covering, and check out the cafe on Instagram to get a preview of the amazing food that awaits you.
