Whether you are looking to grab some coffee for the road or sit back and savor your cup of joe, make Muse Coffee Company your destination.
Located on 310 Valley Brook Ave., Muse Coffee Company, which opened its doors in March 2019, was started by two martial artists named Abe Awad and Marcos Duarte.
The café, which is open seven days a week from early morning to late afternoon, has a calming and chic atmosphere. Potted plants decorate this local coffee shop, and there is plenty of seating.
The worker at the counter who took my order was welcoming, friendly and efficient.
Typically, when I get coffee, I like to add flavoring like caramel or put in a ton of sugar, but surprisingly, I enjoyed the unsweetened drink.
Although I’m not a big coffee drinker, I decided to get a medium cold brew coffee ($4.50) and an apple turnover ($4.70). I got the coffee with oat milk since they did not have any almond milk the day that I went.
The coffee itself was not too strong and the oat milk did not change the taste or intensity of the coffee. Typically, when I get coffee, I like to add flavoring like caramel or put in a ton of sugar, but surprisingly, I enjoyed the unsweetened drink.
The apple turnover, which is brought in daily from Le French Dad, a bakery in Montclair, was delicious. I love anything apple, so I was immediately drawn to this pastry, which contains fresh apple compote. Additionally, it had an amazing glaze on top and was both flaky and filling.
Muse Coffee Company exceeded my expectations and is a great addition to Lyndhurst’s downtown. I will definitely be visiting again and dreaming of that apple turnover until then.
