As I reflect on my time in high school, I realize it is impossible to capture the joy of the past four years in a short senior tribute, but I’ll try my best.
Some of my happiest memories were formed on the field and on the court. I played both softball and volleyball throughout high school, and based on my experiences, I can confidently say there is nothing more rewarding than high school sports. All the practices, games, conversations, high fives after scoring and teamwork have led to memories I will treasure forever.
Here at LHS, I learned how much of an impact a person can make on others when they push themselves to get involved. As a result of my participation in the Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society and Peer Group Connection–in addition to taking a variety of classes–I was able to form meaningful relationships and connections with so many people.
Furthermore, joining The Lighthouse was one of the best decisions I made in high school. I enrolled in journalism last year because I have always liked writing and working with others. Now that I am a senior and webmaster, I can reflect on how great it has been to contribute to the school newspaper. I have learned what it is like to be part of an amazing organization that informs the community through its print and online publications.
All the practices, games, conversations, high fives after scoring and teamwork have led to memories I will treasure forever.
Based on my time at LHS, the advice I want to pass along is to approach anything that comes your way with passion and confidence. I have had my fair share of overwhelming days and long nights of studying, but the hard work has paid off, and if I had to go back, I would do it the same way.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to my parents, my sister Julia and the rest of my amazing family. Thank you for your support. To my friends and teammates, you have provided me with countless laughs and wonderful memories. To my awesome teachers and coaches, you have pushed me to work hard and taught me lessons I will use forever.
I am a collection of all the experiences I have had and all the people I have met. Looking back on the past four years, I can honestly say LHS has made me who I am, and for that I am grateful.
