This school year brings five new faculty to LHS. The Lighthouse caught up with each of them to ask what they hope to contribute to the high school.

Signorina Percontino, Italian teacher

“My goal is to create a vibrant and immersive learning experience using creative teaching techniques and real-world applications to make Italian engaging and accessible. I intend to inspire a lifelong love for learning and create a community of learners.”

Mr. Ricciardi, social studies teacher

“I would like to create a welcoming environment in my classrooms as well as make sure that all of my students learn something new each day.”

Mrs. Schlameuss, nurse

“I want to bring to the school quality health care to all our students and staff members.”

Miss Truncellito, guidance counselor

“I hope to contribute a friendly face that students can rely on for academic and emotional support. I look forward to working with fellow counselors, teachers and administration to create opportunities for LHS students to achieve their highest level of academic success.”

Ms. Valle, science teacher

“What I would like to contribute to the high school is a bridge between female students and a love for science. Currently, women are underrepresented in the math and science fields, and I would like to make an impact in their appreciation and understanding in them.”
