Going to school so close to the Lyndhurst Shopping Center, it is hard to miss MySalad. This restaurant first opened its doors in Wayne in 2016, and in Spring 2023, it opened its second location in Lyndhurst on 415 Valley Brook Ave.

When I first walked into MySalad, I instantly fell in love with its aesthetic. The restaurant is clean, spacious and filled with color, which makes it a welcoming environment.

I assumed the restaurant’s menu would only consist of salads, but to my surprise, it also contains a variety of sandwiches, toasts, wraps and smoothies. During my first visit to MySalad, I got a My Jersey Panini ($11.49), which was very tasty. The panini consists of grilled chicken, grilled artichokes, red onions, fire-roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and pesto. The chicken was perfectly grilled, the bread was fresh and crispy and the toppings complemented each other. I especially liked the combination of grilled artichokes and red onions, which is a unique but exquisite pair.

The next time I visited MySalad, I tried the MyShrimp Taco Salad ($14.99), which was quite delightful. The salad consists of Romaine, grilled shrimp, avocado, grape, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, black beans, tortilla strips and cilantro. The lettuce was fresh, and the shrimp was grilled to perfection. I had never had shrimp on a salad before, but it was a great combination. The fruits and vegetables were also tasty, and I felt good knowing I was eating a healthy meal that would not make me feel sluggish later on.

I also recommend the Nutella Heaven ($8.49) smoothie, and as the name implies, it was a heavenly treat. Made with almond milk, strawberries, nutella and whey protein, the smoothie had a good combination of ingredients. The smoothie does have an aftertaste, which I found appealing.

I have loved everything I’ve tried at MySalad and know I’ll be going back for many more meals there in the future. Whether I’m in the mood for a quick bite to eat or looking to savor a scrumptious salad, MySalad will be my go-to spot.
