Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (release date: Jan. 18)
It has been 13 years since the most recent installment of the Prince of Persia series was released, but the wait will soon end with The Lost Crown. Developed and published by Ubisoft, it is expected to be a fresh start to the franchise, indicating the rebirth of a once-successful series of games.
This action-adventure game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows, Xbox One and Series X/S.
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (release date: Jan. 25)
This video game features remastered versions of Ace Attorney 4-6, named Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. It is similar to the Phoenix Wright Trilogy but has some new side features. It will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (release date: Jan. 26)
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the ninth installment in Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s franchise. It follows up Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which was released in 2020, and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which was released in 2023. It will feature the protagonists of both games as they explore Hawaii and Japan.
This game will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows, Xbox One and Series X/S.
Tekken 8 (release date: Jan. 26)
Tekken, the widely popular fighting game series, is set to get its eighth main installment this month. It will feature some new gameplay mechanics and some returning ones from Tekken 7. It will be released on PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (release date: Feb. 29)
The highly anticipated continuation of Final Fantasy VII Remake is an action role-playing game. 1997’s Final Fantasy VII is one of the most iconic and influential games of all time, and the trilogy of remakes, which is in the works, sets out to retell the events of the original game on modern hardware. It will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5.
Multiversus (to be released in the first half of 2024)
Multiversus is a huge crossover fighter game in the style of Super Smash Bros. It is expected to have consistent updates throughout its lifespan. The roster of characters features some of Warner Bros.’ most popular franchises like Batman and Scooby Doo.
It had successful open beta and early access versions throughout 2022 and 2023. It was and will continue to be free to play on PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows, Xbox One and Series X/S.
Rivals 2 (to be released in the second half of 2024)
Unlike its predecessor, Rivals 2, which is the sequel to the successful platform fighter Rivals of Aether, uses 3D models for its characters instead of 2D sprites. It also adds shielding and grabbing staples to the platform fighter genre.
Rivals of Aether has a popular modding scene, and the scope of modded characters will be expanded with Rivals 2. It will be available on Windows.
Little Nightmares III (release date to be determined)
Developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco, Little Nightmares III follows up on its forerunners. It is a horror game and the first in the series with online co-op for more interesting gameplay scenarios. It will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows, Xbox One and Series X/S.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (release date to be determined)
The critically acclaimed game Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is set to get a full remaster. The GameCube classic has been a fan favorite for two decades, and now players can experience it on modern hardware. It will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
The Plucky Squire (release date to be determined)
The Plucky Squire, developed by All Possible Futures and published by Devolver Digital, follows the adventure of Jot, a character who is kicked out of his storybook and has to explore all kinds of different worlds with his friends.
The game switches between 2D and 3D game styles to create varying moment-to-moment gameplay. It is set to release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S.
