Since the end of the previous school year, LHS underwent a series of upgrades. The final project concluded in early October, with the completion of the student bathrooms. Information included in this article was provided by principal Ms. Vuono.

Student bathrooms
Upgrades include automatic flushing toilets, new sinks and a fresh coat of paint. Most of the partitions between bathroom stalls were replaced, but those that were in good condition remain.

Fieldhouse
Following persistent leaks that were being routinely patched, the roof above the fieldhouse was replaced, protecting the equipment in the coaches’ office, locker rooms, trainer’s room and weight room.

Auditorium
The leaking roof above the auditorium was replaced, and the stairwell and vestibule leading to the balcony were repaired and repainted. The leaking roof had damaged the area, rendering it unsafe and unusable. The repairs restored it for use by audience members and the Tech Club.

Industrial arts classroom
All four sections of the Residential Construction Tech class, which was introduced this year, meet in the industrial arts classroom in Room 102 in the basement. The newly constructed classroom is equipped with hand and power tools, providing students with an interactive learning experience.
