Anthony Andrews, junior
Who is your biggest fashion inspiration?
My uncle. He passes down a lot of his clothes to me, and I love the way he dresses. His style definitely influences the way I build my outfits. I also base a lot of my style on things I see on social media. I mostly use Instagram.
What styling advice do you want to share?
Use colors that go well together within nature. If you’re wearing green, complement it with brown or beige. If you’re wearing vibrant colors, look for small details that connect the different articles of clothing. If you’re wearing a blue shirt, maybe wear blue shoes to match.
What is one item in your closet you couldn’t live without?
A pair of black corduroy pants. They are a great base for any outfit and aren’t boring. Black goes with whatever, so I can base a lot on them.

Chloe Sanchez, senior
Describe your style.
My style is really casual but still put together. Today, I just wanted to wear something comfortable that still made me look and feel cute. I usually see stuff on my feed on Pinterest or TikTok and pick and choose what I like.
What is your favorite way to make an outfit more interesting?
I love it when people wear shoes that are just out there. They probably don’t match the outfit, but I think it’s such a good staple piece. It’s a really good eye-grabber. I’m against matching shoes with your top. I think people need to stay away from that.
What is your favorite trend right now?
The resurgence of prints. Polka dots, tartan and gingham have been all over my Pinterest feed, and I love it. Prints add so much dynamism to an outfit. Any piece can have a print on it, so it’s super flexible to style.

Isabella Sapone, sophomore
What do you love most about fashion?
Fashion has a big impact, not just physically but also mentally. It teaches you to love yourself and appreciate others’ styles. You can really find yourself. I love dressing for myself and being complimented by people with the same style.
What makes an outfit better?
Layering and accessories. I think that 20% is just the clothes, and then 80% is accessorizing and making the outfit your own. I add a few necklaces, and then I use bracelets, bangles, cuffs or anything that’s sparkly to make my outfit better.
What is your favorite piece in the outfit you are wearing?
Either the waist scarf or the belt. It’s fun to layer different things around my waist. It ties the outfit together and gives it more personality.

Chris Guzmán, sophomore
Describe your style.
My style is kind of undefined. It changes depending on the day. I’d say it’s usually out-of-the-box. It really depends on where I’m going, what I’m doing or how I feel. I just try to look presentable and experiment with different things.
Who is your fashion inspiration?
My friends. They are the ones who opened me up to other styles of clothing and showed me how to make them work. They also made me more confident to wear whatever I want without caring about what others say.
Share one styling tip.
If the pants are baggy, it’s better if the shirt is slim. If the shirt is big, the pants should be tighter. Add accessories that no one expects. They stand out and make people notice. While I was in Colorado, I bought this hat that looks like a raccoon, and I think it looks cool.
