As I conclude my senior year, I reflect on how much I have grown and the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today.
When I enrolled in the journalism elective as a junior, I was concerned that I might do poorly. However, I am glad I stuck with it, as it has been one of the most meaningful parts of my high school experience.
Through my assignments for The Lighthouse, I overcame my shyness to interview community members I never imagined I would talk to. I also learned how rewarding it is to report on school news and share information with my community.
I could not have reached my goals without the support of my family.
Beyond journalism class, I have participated in the Law Enforcement Club, Medical Club, National Honor Society, outdoor track and field team, Student Teaching Assistant Program, Wonder Girls Club and World Language Honor Society. Each involvement taught me responsibility, teamwork and time management.
I could not have reached my goals without the support of my family. My parents are proud of the person I have become, and they have always encouraged me to do my best. I am also grateful for my twin sister, Hana, because we have shared so many milestones, and she has been by my side in both good and bad times.
My experiences have taught me that everyone makes decisions they wish they could change, but that is part of life, and one must keep moving forward. I learned not to be afraid to try new things, because that has led to opportunities I never expected.
I look forward to applying these lessons as a biology major at Seton Hall University in South Orange with the hope of becoming a physical therapist. I am excited to help others and continue growing academically and as a person.
