After losing 26 seniors last year, DeLaCruz said he saw the opportunity to start this year, and he took it. He had four interceptions this year and crushed it on defense.
“My life just wouldn’t be the same without football in it. I don’t know what I would do with myself if I ever had to stop playing,” DeLaCruz said.

Although he hasn’t committed to a college yet, DeLaCruz said he intends to major in business and is planning on playing college football.
“I know that it’s going to be hard, but it’s been my dream for so long. I want to keep pushing and achieve my goals,” DeLaCruz said.

DeLaCruz also runs on both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He excels in pole vaulting and has been on the varsity team for four years. He said the pressure of being a triathlete has taught him the importance of having a strong work ethic.
