On Oct. 19, 18 LHS students showcased their talents in the auditorium at the school’s very own talent show, Lyndhurst Got Talent.
The students were evaluated by a panel of four judges, which consisted of gym teacher Ms. Auteri, English teacher Mrs. Ruiz, science teacher Mr. DeVito and English teacher Miss Rendzia. The judges offered feedback at the completion of each performance.
At the end of the show, three winners as well as three honorable mention recipients were awarded prizes. The first place prize went to junior Olivia Oliviera, who sang “The Story” by Brandy Carlisle. The second place prize was awarded to sophomore Angelina Brennen, who sang “Diva’s Lament” by Sara Ramirez. Senior Isabella Freitas took home the third place prize after drawing DeVito live in front of the audience.
Honorable mentions went to seniors Aidan Fairchild and Cecelia Valdez, who sang “17” by Heathers as a duet; sophomore Lucas Francisco and freshman Salma Oweida, who sang “Unholy Confessions” by Avenged Sevenfold, and junior Maya Wachlaczenko for her rendition of “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” which was a tribute to the late singer Olivia Newton-John.
