Even though almost every season the New York Jets underperform and fans get fed up, this season has been the opposite. This year, the Jets are exceeding expectations.
As of Nov. 7, the Jets are 6-3, with their three losses coming from games against the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots, all of whom are powerhouse teams. Their six wins came from the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Second-year Head Coach Robert Saleh has had a huge impact on how the Jets have performed. In his first year with the Jets, he led them to a 4-12 record that made fans unhappy. Since then, Saleh has disciplined himself, his coaching staff and his players a lot more than he had done in the previous year, which has made a major difference.
The Jets have a second-year quarterback in Zach Wilson, who struggled in his rookie year with underwhelming stats. He missed the first three weeks of the season because of a knee injury but seems healthy now with five wins in six starts.

So far this season, many rookies have shown they deserve a starting spot on the Jets roster. Three that have had a huge impact are Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson.
Gardner has been a lockdown corner all season and has not disappointed.
Hall took over the starting running back job from Michael Carter after impactful performances in his first six appearances, but then he came up with a season-ending injury in Week 7. This made the Jets trade for 24-year-old James Robinson, who was great during his first three weeks with the Jaguars but hasn’t produced since.
Lastly, WIlson, a wide receiver out of Ohio State University, has been moving up in the depth chart since Week 1 and is now the clear wide receiver 1. These performances have shown that the Jets have one of, if not the best, draft class of the most recent draft.
The great performances from key players on the Jets indicate that this season may mark the end to their 11-year playoff drought. It is too early to form expectations about a playoff berth, but success is certainly in the realm of possibility for this promising team.
